You mentioned that you have $800 left in payments, which means 2 to 3 more months left on your lease. You might have a chance to negotiate your residual with Saab Financial as you get closer to the end. My understanding is that when your lease is up, the dealer gets a first shot at buying your car at a lower price than the actual residual. With that in mind, you should go to another dealership and make an offer. Something like. "I would like to buy my car at the end of the lease for say $16,000 including certification. This is a good way for the dealer to make a little money. But you should go to tow or three dealership to see what they are willing to do. I am in same boat. The difference is that my lease will have about 38,000 miles. It also depends how long you are planning on keeping the vehicle. You still probably have another year left on the basic warranty
