At the very least it can be verified whether they're correct--they need to show you the pads and the rotor thickness.
I don't understand the seemingly schizophrenic nature of 9^5 brakes. Some folks replace pads and rotors frequently, others, myself included, have brakes that wear like--well--iron. I have a (heavy) V6, I don't baby it when I drive, and have plenty of pad and rotor thickness left at 35k. I suspect I'll be able to double it, presuming pad wear is linear.
It may be there are a number of 9^5s with dragging calipers.
I'd have them show you in person before having this work done.
