how many miles does the car have on it now ? if not too far past 30k i would do that service asap and think about negotiating the cost of it into the purchase price. the 10k service is not a big deal, but the 30k is considered a major service that if not done might have bearing on future warranty claims i would think. as well look at the inservice date as an early 2001 might be running out of warranty fairly soon. neglect of scheduled maintenance does not bode well for the care the car has received, any idea on oil changes? looking for sludge problems would be a good idea , you can drop the oil pan to get a really good look (which is a bit of a job, but you could change the oil pickup screen at the same time as per pat prices' recommendation). alternatively you could have a look around using a device called a boroscope ? which would use the oil drain plug to allow a view of the innards of the oil pan.
enjoy the test drive, i expect you will really like the car but be careful with buying a neglected one that might turn out to be a headache.
