Need Help, Couldn't finish brake job

So I finally got a new set of viggen rotors and ebc green pads on the front of my 2000 aero 95k miles. The install went well (first time working on brakes on a 9-5). But i could not get rid of the spongie feeling in the pads. I had my wife nelping me bleed the brakes for over 30 minutes and no improvement at all. Can an air bubble get locked in the system somehow? The only other info i have is i have bleed the brake before to some success but i have always felt the brakes were a little on the soft side.
Any and all suggestion are greatly appreciated. Good thing i finally got my 74 mgb on the road this weekend, although it raining. can't win!
