Need Opinions re: 01 Aero Wheels / Tires

So we're soon to take delivery '01 CPO Steel Gray Aero 5sp.
What I expected to happen - happened - it's equiped with standard 9-5 alloy wheels, allbeit new Potenza - 215-55R16 (yes this is an Aero). I didn't call 'em on it cause:
1) Other Aero wheels on a AT twin of this car are ugly IMO (17") - if I held out I still wouldn't be happy with them (but better performance)
2) My wife's driving it and she could care less - prolly like the comfort
3) I can put snows on these alloys (anyone advise against that?) maybe steal these tires for my 9-3 which has 205-50-R16 almost shot and consider new wheels for Aero in the Spring - or not

Probably snows + Steels is cheap enough / good enough option for Aero?
I can go that route and wrestle with the dealer for Aero wheels (getting late for that)
If I were driving it I'd get the ugly 17"'s on for fun.

Whatchoo think?
