If you are in VT,and do not want to be repairing or replacing 17 inch wheels often, you might have gotten the better part of the deal, especially if you are planning on driving this car to it's ultimate end, and do not care what the next buyer might think about the 17 inch wheels not being there. The ride is definitely nicer with the 16 inch wheels, and will cornering power be reduced? Yes,but unless you drive very hard, you might not care or even notice it.As for winter wheels,I'm still partial to alloys, and they are not that much more than steel at this point, and look much nicer. what I'm not partial to is busting down tires twice a year to use one set of wheels for two sets of tires. The extra expense and trouble with re balancing is just not worth it. I have used the Saab supplied Gislaved winter tires on both my 9-5's and routinely pass stuck SUV's on the side of the road all winter( NH). Enjoy your car .
