While in MA on holidays the friendly local tech pointed out to me that my MY99 9-5 wagon was running on the 5380811 version of T7 software, and he offered to install the latest version for me but I didn't have enough time to leave the car for an hour or so.

Back in Toronto, I convinced my dealer to update my car, and they installed 5383377. Since I see a couple of posts on the site with numbers like 53866XX, I was wondering if anyone can tell me the difference between the two version.

The car seems to be a bit peppier than before; however, I had a wire corrosion problem at the PCM connector, and today for the first time ever, the car just plain died after driving about 1 km, warmed up. Restarted well, and carried on okay. Is this a sign that the DI in my trunk is about to be needed?
