From 1972-present
1966 Typ 96 3-cyl
1975 99LE 2-door (new)
1967 95 3-cyl oil injection
1977 99 2-door hatch
1978 99 4-door hatch
1979 900T 5-door
1986 900T 4-door
1990 9000S 5-door
1989 9000T 5-door
1993 9000CSE 5-door
2001 9-5 Sportwagon (185 hp)
2004 9-5 Arc Sportwagon (leased 9/11/04)
All of these weren't "my" car, some were driven primarily by my lovely wife. We go back to 1972 with SAABs, and have never been without at least one since. No specific item mentioned in this thread constituting "SAABness," at least none that I can think of, holds consistently through the dozen SAABs we've owned. It's more like qualities: safety, versatility, and the aforementioned individuality. My original 96 oil-burner, bought as a wreck and fixed up into a commuter car, was as good a car in its own way as our brand new '04 Arc wagon....although I'm certain that just the transmission in the new car is twice as complicated as that entire original SAAB 96,
