Many tire installers don't know enough about balancing - they aren't aware how important it is to put the diameter and position of each *balance plane* into the machine. The Hunter 9700 machines automate the process by means of pointer that automatically reads the correct location - the installer must use it or the machine won't go any further. The good news for us is the HUnter is the balance machine in the GM Dealer Tool catalog, so if your Saab dealer has a balance machine, chances are it's a Hunter.
I've had three sets mounted and balanced on Hunter's machine now - one at the local training facility, and two at my dealer's, and every one has been smooth as can be. This never ever happened to me before.
Note that having the the balance read "0" on the machine isn't a guarantee, because the machines are set up to allow a specific level of shake and still say "OK". You could be in that catagory, although if they tore the weights off and re-did the balance correctly, it could give them a different reading. There's also a setting on the machine for the minimum size weight. Most shops use 1/4 ounce, b/c that's the small size weight, but if using stick-on weights, they can reset that to 1/8 ounce and cut the small square in half.
