H/K Stereo lost almost all channels dealer won't repair

Ok, I've got the 9-5 Aero (2001) with the H/K system. Last night I lost my front 3 speakers. Then about 5 minutes later I lost the front doors and back doors (one). I now have the sub and one speaker in the door (pass side).
The previous owner had cut into the wires, and I have since spliced in a hands free kit. All worked fine until yesterday. However, the dealer won't touch it since its been 'disturbed'.
So, I need to find out how to test my head unit and/or amps. I'm leaning towards amps first since I don't have to use a techII to replace them, but I want opinions. I have also considered replacing the stereo wiring harness, but need to know how hard this is (the three wires that go to the back of the head unit... how far away is the other end).
Does anyone have any diagrams of the system, know how I can test to see if the head unit stopped sending signal to the amp or if the amps just quit? I'm in Atlanta by the way, in case someone can help.
Thanks
Liam :-)
