I started, yet another, sub thread on head bolt and head stud issues on the perf BB.
I am really p*ssed off that we have to be dealing with these issues, year after year. I would like to see a real solution and am inclined to want to take stretch bolts out of my engine and throw them away!
Saab brought us soft head bolts and lower torques, and leaky rear main seals. This is not cutting edge, how can this stuff have been screwed up? And whats so new about PCV that it takes all of these redesigns to get it right? And after all of that, I wonder if it is a good solution this time.
And quality assurance has no excuse for not catching the head bolt problems in the factory. They exist to stop things like this from happening. When the problem exists for years, it really says something about the organization.
