I doubt there is going to be much ride difference between the XL and SL load rating tires. But you are going from a grand touring tire to a maximum performance tire. That is more likely to lead to an increase in ride harshness than the load rating. The performance tire should have stiffer side walls.
I went with P-Zero Nero summer tires on my 2000 Aero to replace the Pilot HX MXM tires. I can't remember how much the ride was affected as I don't really care, I run 40psi for performance and at that pressure they all ride pretty rough. By the way, I got something like 32,000 miles out of my HX MXM tires at 40 psi and I drive fairly agressively. I suspect I won't get much more the 20,000 out of the P-Zeros but that is something I accept for the extra performance.
P.S. Somebody previously mentioned the the Neros have a 400 tread wear rating, that is true for the all season version but the summer Neros are rated at 220, the same as the rossos.
Brooks.
