The O-ring that seals aluminum pipes for engine coolant to cabine air heater are prone to fail. The consequence is dripping engine coolant in the from compertment - front driver passanger area. Since the are is supported by foam material with leather backing and topped with the carpet, one will not notice the problem until the all area is completely wet of coolant. The color change on the carpet is permanent, that is waht I found after wasching on mine.
I changed both O-ring but I a very disapointed from the desing on that connection. It is weak contact surfaces with notproficient closing mechanis. The bolt is philips like heat and small area to tighten. The female side for the 0-ring is plastic and loose. The alum pipe has just simple expansion and not rectangular bord. I placed two O-rinds on each pisition but one of them went out when fastening. This suggets that O-rinb housing is actual loose. You will have the problem again once the ring hardens.
I sugest you to change preventively these O-ring becase the damage is quite substanntal. It is a matter of time when these rings will start leaking on your car.
Anyone having same problem, please share opinion.
