If you enjoy driving and want the stick, get it. I am the current owner of a manual 04' Aero wagon. With the amount of torque available you don't have do as much shifting as you might anticipate. I only use 2nd and sometimes 3rd gear in traffic. 2nd gear will take you from a roll to 50mph, that covers almost all traffic conditions. Also have noticed that having a manual keeps you more alert and therefore a better driver. Can't compare the control of a true manual to a semi-automatic.
Good Luck!
Boris
