I have a Saab that is the same year, model, engine and even the same exterior/interior colour as yours. How scary is that? I sound like President Bush in regards to some thought that Senator Kerry has boosted about. I like political humor. I know you live in Florida and are using Mobile one syn oil. You use 15w - 50 in the Summer and you switched to 0W-40 in the winter time. I read your last e mail responce to my titled page "Has anyone tried Kendall motor oil with.... I too have in my saab 95 se Moibile one synthetic 15W- 50 and it is over due for an oil switch over to a winter weight oil. Right now my car has rattling valves, for a short time when i start the car in the morning. I understand your reasoning for using the Mobile brand and the model weights that use have chosen for your Saab. I saw today at a local auto parts store the Mobile one OW-40 and notice that it TO has the ACEA A3,B3,B4 additives or oil lubrications that the 15W-50 weight has in it. I was thinking of switching over to the same weight for my saab 95-se. However after talking to the local saab dealership mechanics in my town, he recommended not using that thin weight mobile one oil that you are currently using. He suggested that i at least use the 5w-30 or 10W-30 for the california enviroment here in Pasadena. However the 0W-40 has the ACEA A3,B3,B4 and the other two grades that the mechanic suggested does not contain these ingredients. Have you notice any ratting noise from your engine at start up in the chilly morning air form switching over to a thinner oil? Or any possible signs of blue smoke coming out the back end of your car? About four months ago i had a new PCV and head gasket replacement. Have you used a product called Auto-RX for your Saab any time during your oil changes? How about an oil treatment along with the Mobile oil? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks, D.J.B. in Pasadena
