The Amsoil 5W-40 is a great product. You have nothing to worry about regarding oil quality! However, you must keep in mind that their 25,000 mile claim is for folks in non-turbo cars. Also, their "three times change interval" for turbo engines assumes the manufacturer recommends non-syn oil to begin with! Up until this year, Saab has always recommended ACEA A3 semi-syn for the 9-5. Stick to 10,000 mile changes & you'll be fine. I know this makes Amsoil a lot more expensive than you were expecting, but the longevity of your engine is more important than saving an extra $15 or $20 on oil.
If you really want to go longer than that, consider sending a sample of the oil out for Used Oil Analysis (UOA). I'd draw one sample at 5k mi (to use for later comparison), then another at 10k mi. If the 10k mi sample looked bad, I'd change it out. If it looked OK, I'd change the filter (the same day the report came back, if possible) & sample again at 15k mi. Keep tabs on the oil's quality indicators until you feel it's time to change (10k? 15k? 20k?) or until the lab freaks out! Do the same thing for the next Oil Change Interval (OCI) to give yourself an idea of how well your oil's holding up. After that, you can decide how long is a safe distance for your engine & driving style.
Of course, I'm also assuming it takes you a year to go 10k to 15k miles. If you've got a job that requires tons of travel & you put 40k mi/yr on your car, then you may be fine going 20k to 25k mi without concern.
