Agree on the AS-3 sound system

I have modified car stereo systems on about a dozen prior cars I have owned and have not yet had one that matched the stock 9-5 Aero's system. I do not think that the FM section of the AS-3 radio is bad at all, but believe that the problem with FM modulation is that you have no control over how close you might drive to a station that is transmitting on the frequency you selected for the modulator. That is what causes the hiss that comes and goes in the signal. I will agree that the AM section of the Saab radio is a bit below standard, but on the other hand, Am is a VERY behind the times method of broadcast( the oldest one in fact) and I have very low expectations for what I will get from it.
I'm sticking with CD's until I can get a car with XM as a built in feature. I really am schocked that Saab is still not in a position to offer it. They went tothe trouble of getting Delphi to give them the new Nav radio for the 2005 models, and blew it by not making XM a part of it. Lousy marketing in my opinion.
