Saab reccomends and specs out a terrific combination pacage of 16 inch alloy wheels with a high grade winter tire. Previously they used Gislaved ( made by Continrntal) but last year switched t oa Good year that many report as being just as good as the Gislaved tires. The 16 inch is the minimum wheel diameter you can use on the Aero. Why some would even want to hang an ugly set of steel wheels on a nice car like this I will never know, other than percieved cost, but for right around $900, you can get the Saab package on the car. If your Saab dealer is sold out, you can order a comparable package through the Tire Rack for ight about the same money, perhaps even a few dollars less. Ronal USA is a third source of ready to go packages in that same ball park. I have used four wheel winter packages on all of my Saabs over the last 14 years, and they can take you anywhere worth going when the weather gets rough. Having a nice ride and decent traction when the roads are not snowy( the majority of the time) is also important though, which is why a 195 width tire on a car like the 9-5 is sub sstandard. It worked on the 9000, but the 9-5 is a heavier car and needs the wider tire to maintain it's ride quality.
