Rotten egg odors are emitted thru the exhaust by cars burning gasoline containing sulphur, or a higher percentage of sulphur. Some brands of gas are worse than others for this, but in any case, you shouldn't be smelling it in the cabin since it is in the exhaust stream.

Two possibilites for this odor in your car are:
1) A failed PCV hose allowing internal engine gasses to escape in the engine compartment right in front of the fresh air intake. One hose in particular (the smallest one going to the throttle body) is most susceptible to failure - usually after 4 years or so of use. Your car is in the right age bracket for this to happen. Repair is very quick (dealer charged me for only 12 minutes) and parts for repair are approx $45. I will do it myself next time.

2) The adsorptive capabilities of the Cabin air filter are exhausted (activated carbon is fully contaminated with odor producing compounds) and the filter needs to be replaced. This is usually done at 30,000 mile intervals and your car is right on schedule for its second cabin air filter replacement. Sulphur smell might be originating from other cars, being picked up by your ventilation system, but the filter can no longer scrub the sulphur smell from it. A new filter is approx $70 at Dealer and is a one hour job to replace, D-I-Y instructions are posted on this board.

A third possibility is holes in the exhaust system. The muffler is usually first to go - great opportunity to upgrade to a Saab/Remus performance exhaust - but that is far aft of the cabin. Still worth a quick check for holes there or elsewhere in the exhaust system.
