Thanks for all the advice.

I will continue driving the car for awhile to see what happens. I may take it to another dealer as well (live in Toronto so can't go to that mechanic in Montreal -- thanks though). No extended warranty.

As for the codes and description of what the dealer told me, I am writing verbatim what it says on the worksheet that the Dealer prints out (code is definitely DTC P1300.

Ultimately, if this is accurate, and I can't find a significantly cheaper way to go, I may just sell the car -- 6k worth of repairs on a car worth probably 12k on resale doesn't exactly sound attractive.

Thanks again for all the helpful comments. I will definitely keep them in mind.
