The rear DI of my 01 V6 failed at 48k at startup. I was well into the routine of running Saturday errands in town, so it was a sudden occurence. Startup idle was incredibly rough, so there was little doubt. I was able to limp a couple of blocks - very slowly - before total shut down. The slight plume of smoke and fried electronics odor were immediately apparent upon opening the hood. Saab replaced the failed DI, not both (we V6er's have the DI version of double jeopardy exposure). My advice is to not trust the limp home feature, it's pretty scary. The fix is easy and quick, mine took a while hassling with Saab USA (the customer service rep quit right after I called, and it took a couple of days for them to transition me to another.... truly a bad luck streak). Happy ending, the car runs great and I'm still totally very pleased with the car.
