No Cargo Tracks!

Today I picked up my 2005 Arc Wagon. In general, I love it! But one thing really bugs me. It doesn't have cargo tracks (or anything else on which fasten a cargo net or bungee cord.)
There are two vinyl strips where the cargo tracks ought to be. They are each embedded into some sort of aluminium track, but I can't pry the vinyl out.)
I thought that cargo tracks were standard on all wagons, but apparently not. The owner's manual has a brief notation regarding cargo tracks that says "if so equipped," (or something like that.) However, the SAAB website lists them as standard equipment for Linear, Arc and Aero wagons.
I could live without the cargo tracks if there were "D" rings in each corner of the trunk (cargo area) to which I could fasten netting or bungee cords. But, unlike my last two SAABs, there are none.
Can cargo tracks be installed after-market? Or does anyone have any ideas on how to stabilize cargo?
Thanks.
