SAAB CS - failing DI - lack of help

So yesterday I brought my 01 9-5 Aero in with 52K for a CEL. The code pulled was for a 'failing DI'. Something about internal combustion chamber failure. In any case, tech reset the light and sent me on my way (it was 6:30pm when I went in, I was glad to just know why it came on).
Knowing that my DI is probably on the way out, I called CS and asked what they have been doing about cars just out of warranty. They spoke to the dealer today and called me back and said they would not do anything because:
The car was purchased at an independent dealer
There is a limited history on file
No work other then warranty work has been performed at the dealer, thus they don't feel as though I'm a "valued customer" EXACT WORDS! (please note that I have had my one and only oil change done at the dealer, and since then I havent needed anything else!)
I reminded the rep that I felt that since I am on my 3rd SAAB I was probably a valued customer! not to mention my brother owns one, both my parents owned them (none of which were passed down).
She didn't seem to care - the decision was final!
My DI hasn't completely failed yet, but I have this feeling its going (CEL). The dealer won't replace under warranty because I didn't buy the car there. The rep told me to buy a CPO if I wanted work past 50K. Of course I'd doubt I would buy from a dealer who doesn't treat EVERY customer as a valued customer.
Disturbing...
Any thoughts?
email for Saab national CS or a VP of Customer Service? It just blows my mind that Saab wouldn't want to make their owners happy... how do they expect to sell more cars?!?!
Liam :-(
