The rails were standard on out 2004 Aero wagon. For 2005, as an option, I would order them. We bought the wagon to replace my Ford Ranger truck. With the rails and the crossbars attached I can haul the long items (8' plus) easier than I could with my truck. And now I have great performance, better fuel economy and safety.
If you don't plan on carrying anything longer than what will fit inside with the seats down then don't get the rails. The $250 cost of that option will be insignificant in the future if you use the feature just one time IMHO.
I truly love our Aero wagon.
