Good place to hide spare keys?

Well...after locking myself out of the car this past sunday and turning what would of been a great day into a 4 hour drama show...I've decided I really need to hide a spare key somewhere.
I currently have 2 original spare keys with the remotes built into them.
I dont like the idea of leaving a remote key stashed away outside though. The freezing temps would probably kill the battery for one and it would be prone to getting ruined if it ever got wet for some reason.
What I'd like to do is, stash the 2nd key away in a good hiding spot inside the car and get a 3rd just basic key without the remote made and stash it on the outside somewhere. Worse case I figure if I get in a similar jam again, I can always unlock the car with the outside key, then pull out the stashed key to shut the alarm off.
My question is, anyone have any ideas on a good spot to stash a key on the outside and inside? I've heard the foglight area might be a good place on the outside..
Thanks,
-AeroRob
