I opted for alloys...

The only consideration is they have to be 16" to clear the bigger brakes on the front of the Aero.
For an extra couple of hundred dollars, I opted for some 16" alloys that look very much like the "Sport Edition Tekno" that Tirerack has as a closeout. I got them locally at about the same price as Tirerack. I negotiated the snow tires (Gislaved Nordfrost III's) as part of the recent purchase of a 2000 Aero with only 55k miles. I intend to keep the car for some time (if all goes well) so the extra investment spread out over the years for something better looking than the eventually rusty steelies made sense to me.
I never liked the way my former 9k Aero looked with the steels so I mounted it's snows on some leftover alloys from my C900T. Never had trouble running the alloys thru the winter.
regards
Peter (Western MA USA)
