If you determine it is a faulty lamp control module, there is one very cheap approach. Go to Radio Shack, and buy some spade connectors, some 16 gauge stranded wire, and some heat-shrink tubing. Wire three of the spade lugs together, and either cover with heat shrink tubing (neat way), or wrap it up with electrical tape. Make two of these 3-legged kludges. Now, simply stick one lug into 56E, and the other lugs into 56eL and 56eR. Take the other, and put one lug into 56B, 56bR, 56bL.
What have you lost? You won't drive the pictogram anymore. But you should have headlights (if it was truly a bad lamp control module).
That's about $6 in parts, and you'll have a ton of spade connectors left over for other uses.
