Its fixed-The 2 rules I failed to follow Posted by adl6009 [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Hi beam switch seems ok- still no hi beams, adl6009 ![]() |
Yes it was the orange lamp control module. After calling a few junkies and checking with eEuroparts I had to buy from the dealer. It was only $136 plus tax!!!! I can't imagine what could make this module so expensive except for the fact only saab uses it and either has to pay exorbidently to produce the item or that saab sees an oportunity to fleece its customers with a dealer only item. I now have the old one also so I fugure I will play with the repair suggestions and then I will have a spare.
What are the 2 rules I broke?
1. If its a choice between a $7 part and $137 part, it will usually be the more expensive part that is defective.
and most important-
2. SEARCH THIS BB- I failed to do this at the begining. After Radek's post I realized it, did the search, and found another reference to the module which helped confirm the diagnosis.
Thanks to all who helped.
