I did get a respond back from Chipcenter the other day and they confirmed that it will infact wipe out the performance chip if I would to do an regular SPS download (just like Nick Taliaferro said).
They mentioned that your performance box is of an older version and it is some updates available to that specific file. They could get a box together and send it over all depending on what you want to do but they didn't say if and how much it would cost.
Maybe if you contact them directly you can get more information.
They also talked about that they now are starting to offer performance upgrade similar to the PPC that another company is offering so you don't need to swap out the whole Trionic box but just plug a computer tool into the OBD2 socket and load the upgrade that way, just like I do when doing the Saab software upgrade.
By the way, check the transmission fluid in your car just to see that it isn't discolored from the limp homp driving.
When we spoke it didn't sound like the transmission was affected as being in third gear from stand still, so I don't think the fluid should be bad but it's always good to check anyway.
