My dad has Hakkapeliita 1's on his 9000. Those have been the best winter tires that we have ever used. We are now on the second set, and this is the 3rd season for them, and they are still performing great.
2 years ago, when we got the 99 9-5 SE, we decided to try the Blizzak WS 50's. Those were awful. They had no where near as much grip as the Hakka's. The tires were constantly spinning, and the ABS was constantly running with the slightest bit of braking, whereas the 9000 with the Hakka's never spun the tires, and the ABS never came on. The WS-50's also drove very poorly on dry pavement. They were loud, they reacted to steering changes agonizingly slow. It felt like I was driving our church's Dodge 15 passenger van! After only 1 winter of driving, they also were almost 1/2 worn. Luckily when the car was totaled, we put the snow's with steel rims on the car and kept the alloys and summer tires.
On my 2000 AERO, I got Hakkapeliita Q's since they no longer make the Hakk 1. These tires are wonderful. I don't think they are quite as good as the Hakk 1's, but they are still very good. They really give great confidence when driving in snow/ice.
I was looking on Nokian's website, and see that the Hakk Q's are discontinued. The Nordman 1's look identical to the Hakk 1's, but they don't come in XL ratings. The RSI's are the only ones with the XL rating in the correct size, however, to me they just don't look as good of a snow tire as the Hakkapeliita's. I don't have any experience driving with them though.
My opinion is that if you can still find Hakkapeliita Q's, they are your best bet, and are worth the extra price.
