Sorry but one of the problems over cyber space is to know and figure out exactly what steps been taken by the poster and you would be surprised how many people that thinks the car should crank over right away when hooking up the cheapest, skinniest jumper cables money can buy.

So accept my apology.

In my car I have the beefiest diesel truck jumper cables and yes they do deliver power enough to jump most cars right away.

As Paul B also mentioned. The other big problem we encouter trying to help posters is to determine if the engine is actually rotating when the key is turned or if it is only saying "click, click".

Cranking over, turning over, fire up is used in all kinds of different scenarios and we never know the real deal until asking some questions.

You mentioned cranking and clicking that I translated to a to slow of a crank that turns into clicking which is a battery/power problem.
