disconnecting car alarm

The alarm on my 1999 9-5 is malfunctioning. It goes off randomly, sometimes even when the car is being driven. The dealership said that the problem is the siren, not the alarm itself. For now, I have pulled the fuse out. This is fine for now, but the fuse is shared between the alarm and the a/c (what a big mistake that is). The estimated cost to replace the siren at the dealership is $500.00 +! I don't really care about the alarm and would just as well not have it connected. I would like the a/c come spring and summer, however. Each time I start the car now, I get a "service theft alarm" message on the SID. Could anyone tell me how to simply disconnect the alarm permanently so that I can reinstall the fuse and not have the SID alert each time I start the car. Thanks in advance for any and all information.
