Thanx to guidance from some posts here on SaabNet, I'm in the process of replacing the 2 lithium batteries on the circuit board of the car alarm siren module. Yes, the dealer charge for completely changing out the module is $400-$500, all for the sake of $20 of soldered in batteries that last 5 years or so.... If you just want to cancel out the module by unplugging it, search for the posting by several people that show how to do the battery replacement, after locating the module behind the left front wheel fender liner. It's down behind the washer fluid reservoir, but only accessible from the wheel well. Even disconnected in this manner, you'll still get the SID fault message, unless perhaps you reprogram the SID with the Tech II device, but I'm not sure....I'll post an update on my success (hopefully..!!) with the battery replacement.
