Washing the car in extreme cold..... OK or not?

I live in Kentucky and we've been having unseasonably cold weather and snow.... the salt trucks have been out like crazy and, as a result, my poor car looks like crap. With the temperature never straying above 20 degrees, should I even bother washing it or will it do more harm than good? I want to take it to one of those do-it-yourself places and just spray (rather than use those horrible, dirty brushes) all of the crap off the poor thing (especially underneath). I know that all of this salt is really bad as far as rust beginnings are concerned.... Any wisdom from you guys up in the "real" cold weather areas would be appreciated.
