i put 0-30w series 2000 in mine and am really pleased with the difference. ( was using valvoline racing). however my engine is also brand new and i have a remote dual filter block. i was able to push semi synth to 9k miles with that filter arrangment. the fram toughgard?? is a good filter but the standard fram not so hot. k-mart filter is also a good one ( forget the mfg) but it is all metal internal parts ala mann..which is also a vry good filter. at that many miles i do not think thatyou will gain much more and in fact it may even cause problems to go to a thinner oil as motors wear in acordance with the weight of oil they run. ie. thick oil for many 100k will wear to the point that oil flow "resistance" past bearings will be the same as a car that only ran 20w. ( keep in mind we are only talking about .0005 - .001 difference....you can help it a little by changing to a thicker oil on high milage engines and i use to run 40w racing all the time in my 86 spg before the rebuild(s) ( don't ask). i'd not think that you would gain much by going to amsoil at this point unless you are in some real cold weather. it made an obvious difference in my car but i only have 15k on a FULL rebuild. the cold flow characteristics of amsoil 0-30 are excellent and i noticed the difference immediately.
