amsoil makes a good flush, plus it's easily available from your amsoil guy (just sign up for the dealership, you'll make it up on discount and you'd be surprised how many business opportunities there still are...I've STILL met relatively young guys that have heard about synthetic but don't use it, most recently on a 72' Hatteras sport fisherman with recently majored (at only 6000hours!) twin 12V72T GMC diesels. Should have gotten 15-30K hours with synthetic.)
I like the 20w/50 marine synthetic because it's priced right, and also runs right on older engines. Plus one of my cars is run very lightly and infrequently (except when I use it, sorry Mom) so the marine synthetic's anti corrosion package seems right.
Amsoil has two filters for your engine. ASF42 is the standard, very good filter that's been around since the 900 came out. Same filter used on volvo B230F/T engines, too. Amsoil has a new synthetic filter media heavy duty filter ASD42. Both filters apparently lead the industry in terms of first pass filtration efficiency as well as total dirt capacity. The gauge or construction of the shell may have changed over the last few years, however, because the shell seems a lot more crushable than it used to be when it comes time to remove it (love that Claw oil filter wrench!).
The synthetic won't cure anything except maybe crud buildup...and may aggravate some leaks/seeps/weeps as it cleans out the crud. Hardened seals, such as around the harmonic balancer and rear oil main oil seal, may start leaking...just observe and see what happens. At 200K, you're starting to look at rebuilding the engine although you may not 'need' to.
But a fresh engine is a beautiful and quiet thing...I didn't realize how noisy mine had become at 220k, timing chain slapping, etc.
