Greg & Todd,
I just purchased the Bentley book online - couldn't find it at the physical store, but the same retailer had it online.
The plugs, wires, cap & rotor were replaced about 10 months ago. When I did it the plugs looked normal - there was a nice light yellow cast to the end of the plug. I took out two of the plugs in October and they looked okay - same as before. I will change the plugs, wires, cap & rotor again though - I did not get the plugs I wanted (no NGK plugs) and the wire set, cap and rotor were aftermarket parts, not OEM stuff (ended up putting the SAAB wires back on). I hopefully will be able to narrow the possible cause(s) once the book arrives. The car will still go into the shop for some work, but as I mentioned in the first post - I don't want to get into a situation where the shop starts replacing all sorts of parts unecessarily.
Thanks for taking the time to respond.
Pete
