KBB says it's worth around $2600 Posted by RS [Email] (#15) [Profile/Gallery] (more from RS) on Wed, 17 Jan 2001 21:01:26 In Reply to: What's a fair settlement, Mike 87 900s, Wed, 17 Jan 2001 14:56:03 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Get quotes for an exact replacement car from a lot of sources and show them that's what it will cost to to replace the vehicle that was damaged by their client. And be prepared to wait them out.
I forget how many miles yours had on it, so I assumed a young '87 with 150k miles ;-)
It took me well over a month to get a settlement out of the insurance company after a semi totaled my '88 SPG in '98. They started at $3500 and eventually settled at $6500.
Insurance adjusters *hate* to have an unsettled case on their desks. The longer you wait, the worse they look to their supervisors. So, if you have alternate wheels, stand firm. And, buy back your old one from them for a nominal cost.
Good luck
