For good instructions re the clutch, the Bentley manual is probably the best. The $45 is definitely money well spent.
As for the spacer, a length of #8 solid copper wire (no insulation) works well (50 cents at the home supply store). No need to remove the flywheel unless it's damaged or the seal behind it needs to be replaced. You'll need to remove/replace the clutch shaft bearing in the center of the flywheel, but it can be popped out without having to remove the flywheel, contrary to Bentley. Use a bolt whose head will just fit thrugh the hole in the bearing and pull on the bolt with the help of a section of steel tubing. Drill a hole in the tubing about 8" from the end and put the threaded end of the bolt through the hole, add a nut, and lever the bearing out.
A ball-end allen wrench makes removing the slave cylinder easier.
