Once was my fault: started to overheat because of thermostat failure. Only time it has ever been towed! (thermostat was 7 years and 90,000 miles old... NEVER neglect maintaince items!) Second was at 110,000: Wife got stuck after clutch master cylinder failed. I rapidly double, triple pumped the clutch with each shift and was able to drive it home.
BTW, not counting the time she spilled diet coke into the ignition switch... Now have 159,000 (owned since new) and replacing head gasket this weekend. Gasket blew on the way to work last week, but I did make it home that evening...
Car has also been maintaince free for the most part. Has original alternator, water pump, steering rack, transmission, etc. Head gasket will be the first major item. Worried that my continum has been disrupted...
