You can use any synthetic oil in any sound engine which has been running non-synthetic. If you have bad seals and gaskets, you may find that out. If you have good ones, you'll have no problems. Over the past 24 years, I've changed many cars to synthetic with over 100,000 miles, some with over 200K
Castrol, particularly since they reformulated last year, wouldn't be high on my list of preferred synthetics. If I couldn't, or wouldn't, get AMSOIL, I'd use Mobil 1.
