Can fuel pump from 85 fit into 89 900s?

Fellow Saabers,

Thanks for taking time to respond!! I own an 1989 900s and suspect fuel pump problems which I recently ran a post a couple of days ago and recieved that possible diagnosis. I ran an onboard computer diagnosis and it came back with a 12111 ( 1 2 1 1 1 Depends On Severity Incorrect air/fuel mixture while driving Check for vacuum leaks Check 02 preheater Check ELCD system Check fuel pressure) which is an incorrect fuel mixture while driving. I did have a broken vacuum breather hose on the valve cover and a vacuum line on the intake manifold. I fixed them. After running the onboard computer diagnosis again I got the same code even after I erased it. What else can cause this code, any ideas?

Also I have a fuel pump that fits in the tank from an 85 900s with CIS fuel system, is it compatible with my 89 900s with electronic fuel injection? From the paranthesis above what is the ELCD system?
