Type F or Type ATF?(long)

Hi,
Just got in a big argument with Oil Can Henry's, a local oil change place here in Portland.
The manager insisted that the type of Tranny I need for my Saab 900 auto is Dextron Type ATF.
However, my owner's manual says use Type F(M2C33F). But the Bentley manual says type ATF.
The manager at Henry's said that Type F is an outdated fluid and swore that Dextron Type ATF is what Saab's love.
Well, I went with the owner's manual and had them put in Castrol Type F that says it is approved for ESW-M2C33-F(just like my owner's manual). I had to sign a release so they are not responsible.
Was I right? If not, I need to get the tranny flushed immediately. The reason I went to a "qickie lube" place is because my indie shop wanted $80 just to drain & fill the tranny b/c they use redline or some other expensive fluid and since I only have a non-turbo car I don't think I need the special fluid.
Has anyone here used Castrol Type F? Am I safe? thanks everyone.
