The Ford spec. M2C33F is the only fluid you should use in a 900 auto. The type F has a friction modifier that helps the clutches lock up. If you use any Dexron or "universal" fluid, the clutches and bands slip - slowly at first, say about 1% of total speed - you won't notice it untill they are worn out and slipping noticeably. What you have now is a mess, a mixture of the 6 fresh quarts of crud, and the 5 quarts or so still in the converter. Did the dirtbags that did this to you actually drop the pan and clean the filter, or did they just suck sone fluid up through the dipstick tube?? I would drain the existing cocktail, refill with type F and drive about 5 miles. Then drain and refill, drive for a day, then do the whole service - drop the pan, clean the filter, use the gauge and a torque wrench to adjust the bands to spec., install a new pan gasket ($12.00) and refill with fresh type F - I think this is gonna cost you more than $80.00
