OK everyone here are the facts of the indictment: 1990 900 SPG, only 66k on manual transmission, serviced just 500 miles ago. Wife wants to use car to pick up daughter. Thinks she has to move shift out of reverse. moves to neutral can't start. Tell her she needs to put in reverse. She keeps trying but can't get in gear. I try and with some difficulty it seems to find reverse and I reverse out of driveway and to pick up daughter. At destination, car won't reverse. We push into road to reverse. During drive, all four gears (didn't try 5th) seemed to work fine with no grinding, noise, hunting. Just won't go into reverse anymore. I think she tried to force it and broke something. I am not a do it yourselfer and I looked at the Haynes manual last nite which basically says could be internal or external. I just want an idea from fellow Saabers as to what it could be BEFORE I bring the car to the mechanic and what the cost is going to be. Thanks. P.S. Does anyone know a good lawyer, I won't be able to represent myself at the justifiable homicide prosecution. Moral of the story: Only Saabers allowed in Saabs.
