so here are the problems they told me. i'll explain best i can but the garage went ahead and already did the "major tune up" which set me back $416.
major tune up: all filters and fluids including the turbo bypass valve which had a vaccuum leak. (this surprised me since i've always been very very careful with all the levels. ESPECIALLY since it was a turbo and oil is super important as is radiator fluid, tranny stuff and everything else but i'm human so i make mistake i suppose!) $416
pully seal on oil pump. they said it would probably be OK for a little bit but if it blew up i woudl be in big big trouble. $185
valve cover gasket. $72
tranny switch $30 - $40
front brakes $180 (which my dad can take care of. any suggestions on where i can get i can get some good quality ones that will last for more than a year or two!?!)
that about takes care of it. my thoughts are that i should get the pully seal taken care of since losing oil and having the chance of it blowing really scares me. but who knows. maybe i could get by for a while.
thanks everyone!
molly
