Ummmm, I have not drained it yet (had to buy a breaker bar).
The 3/8" socket fits in just nice. My problem was I did not have the leverage to get the plug to "break". I will be doing that this weekend.
Here is some info that might help.
first find the plug - it is behind the engine oil drain plug and has a square socket in it that a 3/8 drive extension fits in nicely. Drain the oil in to a pan (about 3 qt). Kevin K recommends running straight 20w non-detergent oil (aka compressor oil) as a means of flushing out the system (or especially to change between synthetics). If you do that, drive the car gently for two weeks or so, then drain and fill with Amsoil, Mobil 1 or whatever you have decided to use (I would probably use Mobil 1 if I were you). Fill is through the level stick inlet on the passenger side of the engine. Kevin is more particular than this - he flushes out the front of the transmission by using a flattened tube - this seems like too much work to me, but there is another 10-15% of the oil in there that does not drain through the bottom plug. Observe carefully the magnetic plug - lots of sizeable pieces of metal there is a bad sign.
Good luck
