Amdrew has a valid concern. Oil life in a automatic trans fluid life is indefinate as long as you keep the trans fluid filtered and maintain a temp under 200 degrees. I need help on this one guys, I have heard for every ten (10) degrees over 200 degrees it cuts yhe fluid life in half. The average transmission is located behind the engine not attached to it. Most tramsmissions are not connected to a heat source (ie: engine) and have a natural coler (no engine attached surrounded by air), Not 900's.
Amdrew is correct that you should change fluid more often than usual to insure the longitivity of a 900 transmission. The trans oil cooler is located in the outlet of the radiator hose so at minium it will be 180 degrees. Fluid changes are a must.
Also, mentioned is the kick down cable adjustment. If the cable is out of adjustment it would delay or inhance shift up performance, not slippage.
Do what Amdrew suggests but also spend time to maintain the band adjustments. This is a vital part to longitivity also.
Do this and keep us informed on the outcome
