Folks,

1986 900 Turbo, grey, at, high miles, blown head gasket, parts car which means a few parts are already missing, absolutely not drivable.

1985 900 Turbo, std, 5dr, 187k, water in oil, driven up to 2 weeks ago, probably blown head gasket, does not use door locks because of 'infamous' wiring. leather really good. owner just tired, his mechanic feels he should fix the car. Questionable on how far the car can be driven.


This is all happening in 'rural' AZ which happens to be 300 miles from me in 'urban' Tucson.

Question: Is there a way to drive a SAAB with water in the oil? Like stopping drain 'mayo' refill with fresh oil, repeat, often. Or do you fix the head now and do not pass go.......


The plan: Drive with DAD, some long needed bonding...to the cars. Get tow dolly and tow the '86 behind DAD's van. I would then 'drive' the '85 behind the '86. Again its 300 miles, mostly down hill. The price is right , I think, at $300 for both. If the '85 is not drivable we could just tow the '85 back after we filled it with parts from the '86. Give me a list of the top 10 parts to steal from the '86 in this case?


What do you think? BTW, did I mention that I REALLY have it in for a 4dr 16vT.
