I agree that the 'regain of power' is a puzzler. The only other thing I would suggest is driving with an DMM connected to the O2 sensor wire to see what the AF ratio does under these conditions. Under acceleration, it will enrichen than return to stoichiometric (0.5 avg) if throttle position is held. The LH system reads Air Mass and O2 and 'assumes' Fuel pressure to deliver fuel quantity at a injector pulse width. If this yields a lean condition, the LH will enrichen on the next pulse to compensate. The only other thing I can think of is to ensure that the AMM, o2 and maintain a good ground at all times and that there is no difference between these ground potentials. Check and clean head ground (AMM/FI) and battery ground to transmission. I had a strange FI problem on my 92 which turned out to be a bad ground to the head for the AMM. It would cure itself after the AMM would burn off and reappear after 5 min or so of driving. The LH showed 'lean' and the O2 showed rich when it was acting up. This makes sense if the ground potential for comparison is not the same between all components. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.
